Our existence can be based on significant memories which themselves often appear as incoherent images. These small mental series convince you of their truth, that you saw them from where you stood. You remember them and they are therefore beyond doubt. They are our desire to re-inhabit those spaces. This is how we mythologize ourselves; create new pasts.
