Hagino has developed a body of work through a continuous reflexion on her personal identity with particular focus on her situation as a "permanent passenger" in a society and culture fundamentally different to her own. In the work that she presents for Emerging she persists with her pursuit to create objects that, through their artificiality, function as a means of evidence of existence and of the construction of identity outwith the framework of established societal structures.
